L'Oreal: We didn't lighten Beyonce's skin

NEW YORK, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- L'Oreal Paris denies media reports claiming it lightened singer Beyonce Knowles's skin color in a new print ad for its Feria hair color.

"Beyonce Knowles has been a spokesperson for the L'Oreal Paris brand since 2001," the company said in a statement issued to E! News. "We highly value our relationship with Ms. Knowles. It is categorically untrue that L'Oreal Paris altered Ms. Knowles's features or skin-tone in the campaign for Feria's hair color."

E! News said the pop singer's publicist declined to comment further on the matter beyond the cosmetics company's statement.
